EPI's research is focused upon a missiological 'model' based upon a biblical theology* of Covenant, Creation and Community.
Research will build upon the model demonstrated in the adjacent diagram, incorporating overlapping circles of Covenant, Community and Creation, which bear, in turn, upon the related themes of Word, World and Church—and the related studies of Theology, Missiology (Mission) and Anthropology (Culture).
Research will be presented via the following:
- Articles — short topical discussions or considerations;
- Essays — lengthier papers of detailed research, with cited sources;
- Theses — developed research brought together to promote a particular thesis (conceptual or paradigmatic statement) that, in time, will form a foundational element within an educational project.
- * Biblical theology
- ...seeks to express the message of scripture according to its own priorities, using biblical rather than philosophical terminology. Since the Bible was composed almost entirely by Jewish writers, an appropriate understanding of Hebraic, Jewish culture, worldview or 'roots' of Scripture is essential in seeking to present a biblical theology that allows the bible to speak plainly. Within an Hebraic worldview, covenant, creation and community are three of the most central concepts.
